Keeping our state frack-free.
North Carolina remains off limits to fracking, the controversial form of natural gas drilling, in part thanks to our efforts. We’ve educated tens of thousands of North Carolinians face-to-face about the dangers of the practice and what it could mean for North Carolina’s waters, leaving behind more than 27,000 pieces of literature. We’ve helped turn out hundreds of activists to public hearings in Chapel Hill and Pittsboro and to rallies in Raleigh. We’ve mobilized thousands to contact state officials, and raised concerns about fracking in the news media, earning coverage in the News & Observer, WRAL, and other outlets throughout the state.
